EUFOR reserve forces, which were activated due to the tense political and security situation in BiH, are still arriving in the country today.

The movement of forces by land was recorded at the Bijača Border Crossing, where EUFOR vehicles, manned by Italian soldiers, are waiting to pass.
Days earlier, Romanian, Czech and Italian soldiers arrived in Sarajevo by land and air, who will be stationed here as part of the EUFOR mission Althea.

“This temporary reinforcement of reserve forces included Italian helicopters with aviation detachments arriving at Camp Butmir, Czech and Romanian military personnel landing at Sarajevo airport and arriving by land via border crossings in convoys of military vehicles,” EUFOR announced.

The presence of the EUFOR reserve forces was also welcomed by the Head of the EU Delegation to BiH, Luigi Soreca.

“EUFOR Althea plays a key role in supporting Bosnia and Herzegovina on its European path, through cooperation with local authorities to maintain a safe and stable environment. Stability and security are essential for Bosnia and Herzegovina’s further progress towards membership in the European Union and NATO,” stressed Ambassador Soreca, Klix.ba writes.
