On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the EUFOR mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina, a line-up of soldiers was held today at the Butmir base.
The soldiers were also addressed by the Commander of the EUFOR forces in BiH, Laszlo Sticz, which was followed by a parade of contingents of soldiers from each country participating in the EUFOR mission.
The EUFOR mission has been marking the 20th anniversary of its presence in Bosnia and Herzegovina for weeks, and a few days ago an exhibition was opened at the European House in Sarajevo, showcasing the most interesting moments of the mission from 2004 to the present day.
“Over the past twenty years, we have cooperated very closely with the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, not only because we have a mandate to cooperate, train together, conduct joint exercises, but because EUFOR has recognized the importance of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina for the entire society in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as for stability and security in this country,” said General Sticz at the time.
On the occasion of marking the 20th anniversary, EUFOR stated that they are proud to contribute to stability and peace in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
