The moves of Milorad Dodik, the president of the Republika Srpska entity, undermine the stability of Bosnia and Herzegovina, given that these are anti-constitutional and anti-Dayton actions.

Today, Dodik signed the decree on the promulgation of the Law on Amendments to the Law on the Publication of Laws and Other Regulations of the RS, after the decision was previously adopted by the National Assembly of the RS.

Many international officials have condemned this action of the authorities of the RS entity.

Avaz sent an inquiry to EUFOR in Bosnia and Herzegovina, asking for a comment on the current security situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina and whether there is a possibility that within the framework of Operation “Althea” EUFOR could increase the number of soldiers in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

“In order to keep of current events, EUFOR actively monitors the current political tensions in Bosnia and Herzegovina. All activities that could affect the security situation are constantly evaluated,” said EUFOR.

It was emphasized that EUFOR is capable of fulfilling its mandate and is a reliable security partner in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

“If necessary, the EUFOR commander can activate reserve forces. The deployment of EUFOR reserve forces is exercised every year in order to ensure the high readiness of those forces,” it was pointed out in the answer.

From a military perspective, they added, EUFOR has not observed any change in the security situation.

“EUFOR currently does not see any need to deploy additional forces in Bosnia and Herzegovina. EUFOR is still 100% committed to the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina,” it was concluded in EUFOR’s response to “Avaz“.
