A member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Denis Bećirović, and the Ambassador of the Republic of North Macedonia to BiH, Ekrem Ebibi, stated at today’s meeting that bilateral relations between the two countries are very good and friendly, with no open issues.
In a farewell meeting with Ambassador Ebibi, the two officials emphasized that Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of North Macedonia are interested in improving overall bilateral relations, especially economic cooperation.
Bećirović said that Bosnia and Herzegovina attaches great importance to strengthening regional cooperation and improving political and economic relations. He expressed his full support to the Republic of North Macedonia during its chairmanship of the OSCE in 2023.
He also confirmed Bosnia and Herzegovina’s unequivocal commitment to membership in the European Union and NATO.
He provided full support to the Republic of North Macedonia on its EU path, and emphasized that membership in the European Union of the countries of the region has no alternative.
Bećirović also pointed out that Bosnia and Herzegovina, within its capabilities, contributes to NATO-led operations, and that participation in peacekeeping operations is one of the key components of BiH’s foreign, security and defense policy.
More than fifty bilateral and ten multilateral agreements have been concluded between BiH and the Republic of North Macedonia, which represents a good legal basis for successful cooperation in various areas of mutual interest.
