The EUFOR helicopter unit, consisting of helicopters from the Romanian contingent, is successfully conducting medical evacuation training in cooperation with teams from the Clinical Center of the University of Sarajevo (KCUS).

After a detailed aerial reconnaissance, the EUFOR helicopter unit practiced medical evacuation in day and night conditions. This exercise is the first joint exercise of EUFOR with KCUS this year.

“This cooperation aims to ensure the rapid response capability in medical evacuation operations (MEDEVAC), while maintaining the highest standards of readiness, coordination and professionalism. The reconnaissance flights, which are conducted in day and night conditions, are carried out to strengthen teamwork, improve operational efficiency and confirm EUFOR’s commitment to the security and well-being of the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina,” EUFOR said.

All EUFOR training activities are being conducted as part of preparations for the annual exercise “Rapid Response 2025”. EUFOR forces from 25 participating countries deployed in BiH, temporarily reinforced by reserve units from the Czech Republic and Hungary, as well as the international peacekeeping force KFOR – Kosovo Forces, will participate in the exercise.

Together with EUFOR members, members of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina (AFBiH) and law enforcement agencies of Bosnia and Herzegovina will participate and train in the exercise.
The aim of the exercise is to improve the operational readiness of all forces involved and to confirm EUFOR’s continued support to its partners in BiH in maintaining a safe and stable environment in the country.

During the exercise, citizens may notice increased troop movements, patrols and other military activities, including the deployment of reserve force equipment and helicopters.
