The handball players of Bosnia and Herzegovina were defeated by Iceland 25:34 in the fifth round of Group 3 of the EURO qualifiers in Sarajevo’s Skenderija tonight.
The favored guests had the advantage from the very start and led 13:18 at halftime.
Iceland continued to increase their lead and achieved a convincing victory.
The most efficient players in our team were Elmas Avdić with seven and Domagoj Alilović with six goals.
The Icelandic national team was led to victory by Bjarki Mar Elisson with 11 and Omar Ingi Magnusson with six goals.
Iceland is first in the group with ten points and has already qualified for the EURO. Georgia is next with four points, and Bosnia and Herzegovina and Greece have two each.
Today at 3:00 PM, Georgia and Greece will meet in Tbilisi.
The two best teams from each of the eight groups will go to the EURO, as well as the four best third-placed teams.
Our team will play Greece on May 11th in the last EURO qualifier.
