Organized by the ITF Taekwondo Federation of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the European ITF Taekwondo Championship for juniors and seniors opened today in Sarajevo.
With more than 1,500 participants from 32 countries, it was declared the largest championship ever organized to date. A special honor was given to Bosnia and Herzegovina, given that this year marks the 70th anniversary of the creation of modern taekwondo, the organizers announced.
They expressed special gratitude to the Minister of Culture and Sports of the Sarajevo Canton, Kenan Magoda, who gave full support to this important sporting event for the promotion of the country, sports and true values to the young generations.
Minister Magoda officially opened the European Taekwondo Championship and wished success to all participants.
The championship will last four days.
