Europol has informed BiH police agencies that a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina is among those arrested in connection with the recent robbery of the world-famous Louvre Museum in Paris, Raport reports today.

The identity of the BiH citizen has not been released yet, but it is expected that official information may be available in the coming days. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of BiH and Interpol in Sarajevo have also been notified of the case. Apart from the information from Europol, police agencies in Bosnia and Herzegovina currently have no further details. According to preliminary information, the man is a man originally from Herzegovina.

Five more suspects arrested

The French television station BFM reported yesterday that five more suspects have been arrested in the Paris region in connection with the robbery of the Louvre Museum. In addition to the BiH citizens, they also include people from other Western Balkan countries, but their identities have not been released for now. The BBC reports that the main suspect in the theft is among those arrested, which was confirmed by Paris prosecutor Laura Beccuau. She pointed out that there is a DNA trace that, according to the investigators, directly links the suspect to the committed theft. The prosecutor added that the investigation is proceeding rapidly and that new investigations and searches are underway.

The stolen jewels have not yet been recovered

Let us remind you that the two men arrested last weekend on suspicion of breaking into the museum through a window on the first floor partially admitted their involvement in the robbery. The Paris prosecutor explained that more than four people were involved in the theft. Despite the intensive efforts of the investigators, the stolen jewels have still not been found, and the authorities are working to the maximum of their capacity to solve the case as soon as possible.

This case further confirmed how crucial international cooperation between police agencies and Europol is for solving such complex criminal activities. The investigation in Paris continues, and the public is asked to be patient while investigators gather all the necessary evidence and carry out inquiries.
