Eurowings connects Mostar with Stuttgart again

After a six-year break, a direct flight between Mostar and Stuttgart has been re-established, thanks to the German airline Eurowings.

The first flight on this route, which symbolically marked a new beginning, opened a new chapter in the development of air connectivity between this part of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Germany and the rest of Europe, Mostar Airport announced on Saturday.

The return of Eurowings to Mostar brings concrete benefits, not only for tourists, but also for numerous citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina who live and work in Germany.

Stuttgart is one of the main centers of the Bosnian and Herzegovinian diaspora, and this direct flight will significantly facilitate and speed up travel between their homeland and one of the most economically important regions of Germany, the Airport further stated.

“After the successful introduction of the Düsseldorf route at the beginning of May, the introduction of the Stuttgart–Mostar–Stuttgart route represents a strategic step forward in regional connectivity. We expect that this route will offer passengers a practical, efficient and reliable connection between Germany and Herzegovina,” they said in a statement.

“Our mission as an airline is to connect people and economic regions – that’s why we are extremely glad to restart this line. In addition, people from Germany are always interested in discovering new regions around the world – this connection will now make travel to Bosnia and Herzegovina much more convenient,” said Reinald Frankewitz, Head of Route Network Development for Eurowings

In addition to putting Mostar back on the European air map, the Eurowings Stuttgart-Mostar-Stuttgart route significantly contributes to the tourism potential of the region. A faster and simpler connection increases the competitiveness of Herzegovina as a tourist destination and facilitates the arrival of people living abroad – especially during the summer season and major holidays.

Mostar Airport remains committed to expanding its network of destinations, with special emphasis on those destinations that have strategic importance for the Bosnian diaspora and international visitors. Flights to Stuttgart represent a new opportunity for development, connection and realization of the full potential of the city of Mostar, the press release concludes.
