The EUD/EUSR welcomes the approval of the Framework Agreement by the Council of Ministers.
Following the meeting of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina on Wednesday April 15th, EUD/EUSR Spokesperson Andy McGuffie said that the EUD/EUSR welcomes the approval of the Framework Agreement by the Council of Ministers as it paves the way for creating the legal basis upon which BiH can receive EU pre-accession funds (IPA II).
“To date, Bosnia and Herzegovina will receive 200 million EUR in total in the period 2014 – 2017 and further funds could be made available should the country agree more country-wide sector strategies.
We look forward to speedy completion of the ongoing process by the BiH institutions regarding the Framework Agreement: in particular this would allow us to mobilize the significant amount of EU funds allocated for BiH to support further flood recovery.
Being able to take this next step would be appropriate and timely, especially in view of the fact that almost a year has passed since the disastrous May 2014 floods,” said McGuffie, announced the EU Delegation to BiH.
