The EU Special Representative in BiH will again support the Kid’s Festival in Bosnia and Herzegovina as one of its sponsors. The 11th Kid’s Fest will take place in Sarajevo 6-10 June in the Zetra Olympic Hall. This largest festival for children and youth in Bosnia and Herzegovina will bear the slogan ‘Kids4Kids’ and will promote solidarity with children and families from the areas affected by floods.
Head of the EU Delegation/EU Special Representative, Ambassador Peter Sorensen, said:
“We are very happy and proud to be a part of the Kid’s Fest once again. This year’s Festival has exceptional value because it’s happening in the aftermath of devastating floods and has the primary goal of promoting solidarity with all those affected in Bosnia and Herzegovina.”
Director of the Kid’s Fest, Ms. Susanne Prahl, said:
“Taking into account the catastrophic consequences of the floods, we want this year’s Kid’s Fest to be a unique oasis where children will be able to continue to dream no matter what. I am very happy with the cooperation with our numerous partners and perfect example of a good partnership is our cooperation with the Office of the EU Special Representative in BiH. Ambassador Sorensen organized last year a reception to honour the tenth anniversary of the Festival and now we are happy that this year children will wear t-shirts provided by the EUSR.”
The official kick-off the Kid’s Fest 2014 will take place on Friday, 6 June, at 16:00 h, with a children’s parade through downtown Sarajevo starting in front of the Roman Catholic Cathedral.
