Almost 30 divers from B&H, Serbia, and Montenegro signed up for the jumps on the waterfall in Jajce on the 1st of August, and fans of this sport from Kosovo announced their arrival as well.
Director of the Agency for Cultural, Historical and Natural Heritage and Development of Tourist Potential of Town Jajce, Huso Hadžić said that this year they expect as twice as jumpers than last year, when 18 athletes competed.
Waterfall in Jajce, around 21 meters high, created at the confluence of the Pliva and Vrbas river, according to many, is estimated as one of the ten most beautiful waterfalls in the world. It is among the rare waterfalls located in the center of the city.
Hadžić reminded that jumps from the waterfall in Jajce are unique in the world, and were attended last year by over 5,000 visitors, while the world’s media reported on the event.
The president of jury of this year’s jumps from the Jajce waterfalls is the most popular Mostar jumper, Emir Balić.
Experts in tourism are including Jajce as one of the most beautiful cities of Europe, with a waterfall in the center of the town, offering tourists the beauty of the Pliva lakes, religious tourism and plenty of remains from medieval Bosnia.
