kakanjDespite numerous difficulties because of the reduction of funds from higher levels of government in 2014, Kakanj municipality managed to achieve budget stabilization and was able to regularly carry out their obligations as a result of continuous savings, rational use of energy, and engagement of the municipal executive branch in the decision-making of their municipal revenues.

In 2014, social benefits were fully paid out, scholarships for students were regularly given, obligations (in terms of stimulating employment of trainees) were regularly executed, significant investments in infrastructure were made, numerous benefits for investors were provided etc.

The biggest success is in the fact that in 2014, the Municipality Kakanj achieved a surplus of income over expenditure in the amount of 108,700.98 BAM, which, when taking into account all levels of government, is a rare case in B&H.

Total budget execution of municipality Kakanj for 2014 amounted to 16,748,05 BAM and it was increased by 31% compared to 2013 when the execution amounted to 12,719,247 BAM.

“In two years we have managed to increase the budget of the Municipality Kakanj from 12,719,247 BAM which was in 2013, to 22,715,602.93 BAM which is the projected budget for 2015. We expect a very high percentage of execution of this year’s Budget as well, “said Mayor of Kakanj, Nermin Mandra.
