New legal provisions are in full force as of today. Amendments to the Law on the Basics of Road Traffic Safety in BiH have come into force.
The penalties have been significantly harsher, and the term reckless driving has been introduced – a misdemeanor for which high fines of two to three thousand marks are foreseen, as well as the possibility of permanent confiscation of the vehicle.
The penalties for using a mobile phone while driving, as well as for not wearing a seat belt for the driver and front passenger, have also been significantly increased.
