The exhibition “Erasmus Spain and Bosnia and Herzegovina – a journey of culture and creativity” was officially opened today at the Rectorate of the University of Sarajevo, realized in cooperation between the University of Sarajevo and the Embassy of the Kingdom of Spain in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The attendees were addressed by H.E. María Molina Álvarez de Toledo, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Prof. Dr. Kemal Durić, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation of the University of Sarajevo, and Prof. Dr. Tarik Zaimović, who declared the exhibition open.

In their addresses, the speakers emphasized the successful and long-standing cooperation between the University of Sarajevo and the Embassy of the Kingdom of Spain in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as its contribution to strengthening academic, educational and cultural ties. Particular attention was paid to the successful cooperation of the University of Sarajevo with Spanish universities through Erasmus+ mobility programs, joint projects, exchange of knowledge and experiences, as well as the development of international partnerships in the field of higher education and scientific research.

It was emphasized that the Erasmus+ program represents much more than academic exchange, as it enables the connection of people, cultures and ideas, contributes to mutual understanding and strengthens an open, inclusive and internationally connected academic environment. The speakers also emphasized the importance of international cooperation in modern higher education, especially in the context of developing youth competences, promoting European values and improving intercultural dialogue.

The exhibition brings a visual and experiential journey through the stories of students, teaching and administrative staff from Bosnia and Herzegovina and Spain who participated in Erasmus+ mobility programs between the two countries.

Through photographs, personal testimonies and accounts of everyday life, the experiences of academic exchange, intercultural dialogue, language learning, professional development and personal transformation that international mobility enables are presented.

The exhibition focuses on strengthening cultural and educational ties between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Spain, as well as promoting creativity, international cooperation and mutual understanding.

The exhibition is part of this year’s Staff Week program, which includes 95 representatives from 58 universities from 19 countries.
