On 8 March, Friday, Sarajevo Centre for Contemporary Art is opening an exhibition ”Miraz” (Dowry) in Collegium Artisticum Gallery in Sarajevo.
”Miraz” is a part of a project ”Women’s heritage- contribution to equality in culture” whose initiator is Centre for Women’s Study from Zagreb.
During 2012, exhibition ”Miraz” has travelled to Ljubljana, Trieste, Belgrade and Zagreb.
The core of the exhibition consists of artists from Sarajevo who cooperate with artists from Ljubljana, Belgrade and Zagreb.
The aim of the exhibition to establish creative dialogue between authors from former Yugoslavia who share common heritage and work on similar artistic, gender and social platform
The exhibition is linked to patriarchal tradition and culture, where position of women in family and society is clearly defined.
Dowry symbolizes the relation of personal heritage, life and social heritage of women values.

The exhibition ”Miraz” was enabled by the Swiss Cultural Programme.
