An exhibition under the title “Sarajevo 1878-1918” will take place at the Ice Magic of the Municipality of Novo Sarajevo on Thursday, January 11. The exhibition will present 40-year long Austro-Hungarian rule in BiH and Sarajevo.

During its rule, Austria-Hungary shaped and gave a certain seal on everyday life and history of our capital city. Sarajevo became a real European city from a small town, and it also changed its architectural, economic, socio-political and cultural appearance. The best indicators are numerous residential and communal objects, industrial production plants, as well as healthcare, cultural and religious institutions.

The beginning of the end of this historical era was the assassination of Franz Ferdinand and his wife Sofia and the beginning of the World War I, which took place from 1914 to 1918.

All visitors of the Ice Magic of the Municipality of Novo Sarajevo will have the opportunity to visit the open-air exhibition and learn something new about this period, which marked the history of Sarajevo in a special way.

The exhibition will be available from Thursday, January 11, to Saturday, January 13, from 11 AM to 2 PM.
