The exhumation process was completed under the supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH at the Prosara-Bijakovac site, Kozarska Dubica municipality. The remains of one male person were found.

The exhumation and work of all persons involved in the exhumation process was coordinated by an investigator of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, under the supervision of the case prosecutor from the Special Department for War Crimes of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH and on an order of the Court of BiH.

The remains will be transferred to the Šejkovača Memorial-Identification Centre (KJI) in Sanski Most for further forensic processing and identification of the victim whose remains were found.

There is currently some knowledge about the possible identity of the victim, which will be determined later through DNA analysis. SIPA actively cooperated in the activities of finding the remains and verifying the facts and it, together with the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, was bringing the witness to the scene in order to determine the exact location.

Officers of the Institute for Missing Persons of BiH, a forensic doctor, as well as police officers of the Kozarska Dubica Police Station participated in the process of searching for and exhuming the remains.

Employees of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH take part in the search for remains and exhumations of victims of war crimes throughout BiH almost on a daily basis.
