Explosion in Grozny, Children among the dead

Four people, including two children, died in an explosion of a fuel tank at a gas station in Grozny, the capital of Chechnya, the local office of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations announced.

“The personnel of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations extinguished the fire in Grozny. The buildings are being poured with water,” the announcement states.

No further information has been released for now.

Meanwhile, the governor of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, said that all persons responsible for the explosion of a fuel tank at a gas station in Grozny will be punished.

Kadyrov said that he will personally make sure that those responsible are punished.

“Staff of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations extinguished the fire in Grozny. Unfortunately, four people died, including two children,” the local department of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations said in a statement.

Five people were slightly injured and were treated on the spot.

The press release states that 35 firefighters and seven fire engines were engaged in extinguishing the fire, with an area of ​​900 square meters.

In the Russian Investigative Commission, “Sputnik” was told that a criminal case has been initiated due to gross negligence in the provision of services that resulted in the death of two or more people.
