Serbian Prime Minister Đuro Macut said today in Banja Luka that the unity of the Serbian people is always present and that Serbia and the BiH entity Republika Srpska cooperate intensively in all areas.
“We gathered today in Banja Luka to celebrate the Day of Serbian Unity, Freedom and the National Flag. It is a great holiday of the Serbian people that we celebrate because of our fraternal connection and in every other respect. This space is divided by a river, but it is a people with one soul,” said Macut at a press conference after a meeting with RS Prime Minister Sava Minic.
He repeated that Serbia respects the Dayton Peace Agreement.
“We want to cooperate with everyone in the region, which is the greatness of the Serbian being. We talked about plans and what connects us in the economy, infrastructure, education, science and everything related to our relations,” Macut added.
He says that at the next meeting of the governments of Serbia and Republika Srpska, there will be an opportunity to discuss more specifically the additional modalities of cooperation.
Tonight in Banja Luka, the Day of Serbian Unity, Freedom and the National Flag is being organized by the governments of Republika Srpska and Serbia. The central ceremony is at 20:00 in the Borik hall, and was preceded by a meeting between the two prime ministers, Savo Minic and Đuro Macut.
SNSD president Milorad Dodik said this afternoon that Bosnia and Herzegovina had banned the overflight of the Serbian prime minister, but the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina clarified that the request for approval of the overflight from the Embassy of Serbia arrived at the ministry five minutes after the plane was supposed to take off. If the overflight had been announced within the period prescribed by the protocol, it would have been approved, the ministry stated.
