BH food industry Klas Ltd. Sarajevo successfully implemented a certification program for organic production and exports of its products – Sarajevo somun (traditionally prepared flat bread) and somun made of integral flour to the EU market. These are the first bakery products from BiH that are exported to Denmark, i.e. to the EU market, under the mark “EU organic logo”.
Organic products are products that are obtained from strictly controlled way of production, which is legally regulated. Organic products are healthier and have a higher nutritional value. Because of the way and process of production which are in harmony with nature, these products have bigger vital energy and strength, which is necessary for the maintenance of immunity, regeneration process and maintenance of the vitality of the human body. Therefore, organic food tastes much better than regular one.
“There is pronounced trend of increasing demand for organic products in the world market for a longer period of time, and Klas laid the foundations of a new segment of development of its brands. It was not hard to certify something that is already healthy and high quality, such as our somuns, a top delicacy of BH cuisine. We will further develop this program in order to get established as a manufacturer of organic food on the European and world market.
Organic control “OK” is BH organization for certification, which developed a certification program and OK standards for organic production and processing in accordance with which this program is implemented, as announced from the company Klas.
