In Vrapčići near Mostar the 11th International Economic, Agricultural, Food and Tourism Fair “Days of Cherries 2013” opened today.
At this year’s fair, there will be about 200 local and foreign exhibitors.
The organizer of the fair is the Tourist Association Sjever-Potoci, and the partner country this year is Spain.
The fair will be opened by the Ambassador of Spain to BiH Maria Aurora Meljia, the Mostar Mayor Ljubo Bešlić, Federal Minister of Displaced Persons and Refugees Adil Osmanović and the winner of the exhibition award businessman of the year Hamo Badžak.
The Director of the fair Salem Bubalo said that much effort will be invested in this year’s fair.
“Our entire program content since the beginning has been to create new value, both in rural tourism and in other areas, which enables the promotion of all these values, and not only in Mostar but in all of BiH. All this requires much effort, but in the end, when we see how many exhibitors arrive and the level of interest of the government, all this effort and hard work becomes justified’’, added Bubalo.
Hamo Badžak, the owner of the largest manufacturing and exporting of cherries in BiH Jaffa Komerc, urged farmers to plant cherries, whose cultivation represents a big chance for development.
“This year, we have exported one truck of cherries to England and one to Russia. We could export practically unlimited amounts, but we simply do not have enough cherries’’, said Hamo Badžak.
