Fans of the “Home Alone” movie noticed some obvious mistakes in the cult Christmas movie, but also one fact that shocked everyone, here’s how times have changed.
Fans of “Home Alone” have noticed some glaring mistakes in the iconic Christmas movie.
They highlighted one particular scene in which Kevin McCallister, played by Macaulay Culkin, carries groceries home in two large plastic bags.
While the eight-year-old boy was walking on the sidewalk, two bags broke at the same moment, spilling all the contents of the bag onto the ground.
But how did the bags manage to break at exactly the right time?
If you look closely, Culkin was holding one string between the handles of the bag. At a certain point, he instantly pulled the strings to tear the bags open.
But that was not all.
Another mistake from the same scene shows that all the cartons of milk, juice, and other necessities that Kevin carries without any trouble are actually empty.
“The biggest gaffe is empty containers!!! At least fill them with water,” one disgruntled fan wrote in a recent Instagram video.
When the things fall out of the bag, the sound of empty Tetra Paks and plastic detergent bottles is heard, and although this scene is still funny, it makes many people angry because the film crew did not think about such details earlier.
Namely, this scene has become popular in recent days since the question of how much these two bags of necessities and groceries would cost today spread across the Internet.
Geoffrey Lyons from Dallas recently took to TikTok with a clip exploring the cost of Kevin’s trip to the grocery store in the hit 1990 movie.

Lyons studied the products in Kevin’s cart before adding up the quantity at today’s prices.
He was amazed to find that the price today would be 3 and a half times higher than it was then.
”Orange juice, bread, frozen macaroni and cheese, cling film, half a gallon of milk, Tide, toy soldiers, toilet paper,” he listed.
At the register, Kevin shows a coupon that gives a discount of 1 dollar before the cashier reveals that his total amount is 19.83 dollars or about 35 BAM.
Geoffrey then moves to his computer where he breaks down the entire cost.
‘”What does it come to? Total 63.73 dollars. Add tax – 5.25 dollars – and the total is 68.99 dollars!'”
In euros, it would be slightly more than 62 euros or 121.52 BAM, Klix.ba writes.
