cowThe company “Arifagic-Investment” by the owner Jusuf Arifagic, got the right on lease and the construction of modern farm of Norwegian Red cattle at the site of the former pig farm “Pucenik” in Bosanska Krupa.

As one of the preconditions for the right to lease of the land and buildings that are on it, the future investor had to agree to employ at least 200 workers in the next 5 years, and apparently the company “Arifagic-Investment” will do that.

Arifagic is the owner of one of the largest and most modern dairy farms of Red Norwegian breed in the world, which is located in the village Trnopolje, from where he plans to move part of calves in Bosanska Krupa and continuously expand its capacity.

Otherwise, Arifagic’s farm in Trnopolje is characterized as one of the most modern in the world and that is why many people call it “the hotel for cows”.

From 7,300 m2, as it occupies, stables occupies the most part. The temperature in the stables is 7 °C and it is compliant with the temperature in Norway, where cows are coming from. Adult cows have their own space and calves have theirs.

Calves are places in the cribs, like for children, and the older ones go on “automatic machine for milk”, where they receive additional milk with vanilla flavor. After the feeding, the cows are resting on 7 centimeters thick mats.

Milking takes place in a room where the floor is covered with blankets made of special ecological materials, which prevent injuries and illness of hooves. The light in the stables is regulated by special curtains, which according to needs, descend and raise.

In order for cows to relax better and give more milk, they are milked with the music on. Milked milk (around 78,000 liters per month) is then transported to warehouses by special pipes and it is absolutely protected from external influences.

The construction of similar farms is expected in Bosanska Krupa in the near future.
