Prime Minister of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Nermin Nikšić, met today in Sarajevo, with the Commander of EUFOR in BiH, Major General Helmut Habermayer.

Evaluating the presence of EUFOR as an important guarantor of the security and future of our country, Prime Minister Nikšić expressed his willingness to cooperate in order to ensure peace, security and prosperity in these areas.

“We are determined to turn to the future. We see Bosnia and Herzegovina as a member of the European Union and NATO. NATO is our security umbrella, without which it is difficult to expect political stability and overall prosperity in Bosnia and Herzegovina,” emphasized Prime Minister Nikšić.

He added that the FBiH Government is open to any form of cooperation that will contribute to the economic strengthening of the country, more efficient implementation of reforms, security and faster prosperity, for the benefit of all citizens.

“It is difficult to expect and secure investments and new investments where there is no political security. Therefore, we will also work on the establishment of broken bridges in order to try to turn around, and contribute to the political stability of the country and build trust, which plays a key role in the development of this country,” said Nikšić.

Major General Habermayer also assessed the political stability and security of the country, as well as joint work, as important. He informed Prime Minister Nikšić about the activities of EUFOR, which are in the domain of regular activities, stressing that from a military point of view there is no security threat in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
