Federal Authorities to hold another Meeting on the Formation of Government

The President of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina Lidija Bradara, after the deadline for the formation of the Federation of BiH Government, will try to hold another meeting this week with the Vice Presidents of the FBiH Refik Lendo and Igor Stojanović.

Lendo did not sign the Decision on the appointment of the FBiH Government, which is why the Government was not formed by the scheduled deadline, April 6.

”At the last meeting, the High Representative asked about the readiness for further talks, that is, at least one more attempt at an agreement. The conversation is something that has no alternative and I will simply try to present the arguments and I hope that we will reach a solution this week,” said Bradara for Fena news agency.

She expects that Lendo “will understand the circumstances in which the Federation finds itself and accept that there is a parliamentary majority in the House of Representatives and the House of Peoples of the FBiH Parliament”.

We remind you that without Lendo’s signature, the Decision on the appointment of the FBiH Government, which was made by the FBiH President on March 30, could not be submitted to the House of Representatives for confirmation, and Bradara sent this House Information on the Decision in order to inform the deputies about all the developments related to the formation of the Government.

Thus, on April 6, at an extraordinary session, the House of Representatives took note of the aforementioned Information and made several conclusions, one of which was to find a solution for the appointment of the Government as soon as possible.

Bradara notes that at this moment it is most important to form a government so that politicians can take care of all the citizens of the Federation, who are waiting for reform laws, socio-economic reforms or, more specifically, salary increases, reductions in the prices of food and energy.

”The Federation needs some new energy and this is not just a phrase from my side. I really think it’s high time we look to the future and make laws that will allow people to live normally in this country. Also, it is important that we stop the departure of young people and enable the return of people to this country. We need developed infrastructure, happy and healthy families, development of agriculture as well as significant investment in education because it is the best investment this country can make,” said Bradara.

Otherwise, the Decision on the appointment of the FBiH Government was made by Bradara on the basis of the agreement on the formation of government between the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) of BiH and other parties of the new parliamentary majority gathered around SDP, Narod i Pravda (NiP) and Our Party.

According to that decision, the candidate for prime minister of the Federation is the president of the Social Democratic Party, Nermin Nikšić.

Toni Kraljević (HDZ) was nominated for the Minister of Finance, Vojin Mijatović (SDP) for the Minister of Development, Entrepreneurship and Crafts, Almin Hopovac (SDP) for the Minister of the Interior, Vedran Škobić (HDZ) for the Minister of Justice, while for the Minister of Energy, Mining and industry proposed by Adis Bubalo (Party for Bosnia and Herzegovina).

Also, Sanja Vlaisavljević (HDZ) was nominated for the Minister of Culture and Sports, Andrijana Katić (HDZ) for the Minister of Transport and Communications, Nerin Dizdar (SDP) for the Minister of Displaced Persons and Refugees, and Hasan Handzic for the Minister of Defense and Liberation War Veterans Affairs Handžić (Party for Bosnia and Herzegovina), and Milenko Bevanda (HDZ) for the Minister of Health.

The duties of Minister of Education and Science should be performed by Vedran Lakić (SDP), Minister of Trade Anel Kljako (National European Union – NES), Minister of Labor and Social Policy Adnan Delić (NiP), Minister of Environment and Tourism Nasiha Pozder (Our Party), Minister of Spatial arrangements by Željko Nedić (HDZ) and Minister of Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry Zuhad Porčić (NES).
