Federal Government allocates over Seven Million BAM for Railways

The Federal Government has adopted a decision on 7,673,000 BAM worth of this year’s program of capital spending on public enterprises, intended to co-finance the construction of railway infrastructure.

From this amount, for the purpose of installation of an optical cable with active equipment on the Sarajevo – Zenica – Zeljezara – EVP Banlozi, 2.753.000 BAM, for installation of the electronic security 2.320.000 BAM, for the six road crossings on the railway lines of Željeznica BiH, as well as for carrying out a feasibility study with geological research and a conceptual design solution for the new Varec – Banovici line of 600,000 BAM.

Federal Ministry of Transport and Communications and Railways of FBiH d.o.o. Sarajevo will sign for each of these projects a special contract on transfer of funds, implementation of public procurement (in case the FBiH is not a contractor) and reporting on the funds spent.

The BiH Railways will increase the share of state-owned capital of this company by the number of total funds and inform the Federal Ministry of Transport and Communications about it.
