Federal Ministry of Tourism allocated 200.000 BAM for the Via Dinarica Project

b_161122067The UNDP BiH yesterday signed an agreement on co-financing with the federal Ministry of Environment and Tourism, which will support the project Via Dinarica with 200.000 BAM with the aim of joint wok on sustainable development of tourism in BiH.

“Through our participation in the project Via Dinarica, we want to support the development of tourism in nature, thus contributing to diversification and promotion of tourist offer of our country. In addition to that, this project will contribute to the development of agriculture and the stay of population in rural areas of BIH, who will be able to live from their work,” said the federal Minister of Environment and Tourism Edita Đapo.

Two million BAM have been approved in the federal budget for 2016 within the Strategic plan for tourism in FBiH for the improvement of the quality of tourist offer, the strengthening of tourist services and improvement of promotion.

Resident representative of UNDP in BiH Sezin Sinanoglu emphasized that UNDP wants to contribute to the development of tourism and long-term protection of environment in BiH by supporting the relevant federal ministry and other relevant institutions in BiH.

Project Via Dinarica is a platform for sustainable development of tourism and local economic growth which connects seven countries of the Dinara mountain range, from Slovenia in the north to Serbia, Kosovo and Albania in the south.
