Federation of BiH allocates 70 Million BAM for Health Insurance

The Government of the Federation of BiH has decided to allocate 70 million BAM for the Health Insurance and Reinsurance Institute of the Federation of BiH.

The decision approves the allocation of these funds for financing the procurement of medicines and medical devices, the provision of health services and the implementation of the programs of the Federal Solidarity Fund established by the Health Care Program.

The funds of this transfer are allocated to two programs, of which 20 million BAM for ensuring the right to health services financed by the Federal Solidarity Fund, and 50 million BAM for ensuring the right to medicines and medical devices financed by the Federal Solidarity Fund.

Also, a transfer for co-financing the costs of displaced persons planned in the amount of 2,000,000 BAM is intended for the Health Insurance and Reinsurance Institute of the Federation of BiH. These funds are allocated for financing health services for hospital treatment in health institutions in the Federation of BiH, returnees from the Federation of BiH to municipalities in the Republika Srpska.

The transfer for biomedically assisted fertilization amounts to 5,000,000 BAM. These funds are allocated to finance health services related to the exercise of the right to treatment of infertility through biomedically assisted reproduction on the territory of the Federation of BiH, in health institutions in the Federation of BiH with which a contract has been concluded.

An amount of 1,500,000 BAM is planned for the Institute for Transfusion Medicine of the Federation of BiH. These funds are allocated to co-finance the costs of the Institute in 2025, which arise from the performance of activities prescribed by the Law on Health Care and the Law on Blood and Blood Components in the part financed by the founders of the Federation of BiH. The purpose of this program is the successful performance of the Institute’s activities, the application of uniform standards in the collection, testing, processing, storage, issuance and use of blood and blood components, and the coordination of activities in the process of transfusion medicine in the Federation of BiH, as well as the improvement of the work of diagnostic services, and the promotion and increase in the number of voluntary blood donors.

Funds in the amount of 500,000 BAM are allocated to co-finance the costs of the Agency for Quality and Accreditation in Healthcare in the Federation of BiH in 2025, which arise from the performance of activities prescribed by the Law on the System of Quality Improvement, Safety and Accreditation in Healthcare. The purpose of this program is to perform professional and related administrative tasks with the aim of improving the quality and safety of healthcare services, and implementing accreditation in healthcare.

35,000 BAM has been planned for healthcare for Roma in the Federation of BiH, and the purpose of this program is to provide adequate healthcare to persons of Roma nationality, under the same conditions as for other population groups exposed to an increased risk of illness.
