Today, the European Football Association (UEFA) fined the Turkish Fenerbahce in the amount of 80,000 euros due to fan riots at the Royal Union Saint-Gillois in Belgium.
The Disciplinary Commission of UEFA imposed penalties on Fenerbahce for the disorder caused by the fans on March 7 this year in the first leg of the round of 16 of the UEFA Conference League in which the Turkish team celebrated a 3:0 victory.
A fine in the amount of 80,000 euros and a ban on Fenerbahce to sell tickets to its fans for one of the next away matches of the UEFA competition was imposed for the use of pyrotechnics, throwing objects on the field, disorder in the stands and causing damage.
Also, Fenerbahce was ordered to contact the Belgian club Royale Union SG within 30 days from the day of the decision in order to settle the damage caused by its fans, i.e. for 15 broken chairs in the stands, AA writes.
