Third session of the Organizing Committee will be held today at the headquarters of the Majlis of Islamic Community Banja Luka.

As one of the most significant achievements of the Ottoman sacral architecture in Bosnia and Herzegovina built in 1579, the Ferhat pasha’s mosque was demolished by the Army of Republika Srpska on May 7, 1993. Precisely on that day, the 7th of May 2016, the mosque is to be opened. Reconstruction of the mosque has been ongoing since 2001. During the reconstruction, about 70 percent of original fragments have been found. Those fragments have been built in again, in order to preserve the authenticity of the mosque.

In addition to a large number of believers, it is expected that the event will be attended by friends from all countries of the world which have been monitoring the process of reconstruction and participated in it, representatives of governments of the USA, Great Britain, representatives of European Union, as well as representatives of the Republic of Turkey, who announced the arrival of delegation headed by the Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu.

Diplomats from France, Austria and other ambassadors will also be among the guests.
