Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico underwent another operation, and officials called his condition very serious.
The director of the University Hospital where Fico was taken by helicopter, Miriam Lapunikova, said he underwent a CT scan and is currently in the intensive care unit.
However, she described his condition as “very serious”.
She said the surgery removed the dead tissue.
“I think it will take a few more days until we definitely know the direction of further development,” said Robert Kaliniak, the defense minister and deputy prime minister.
As a reminder, the gunman shot Fico five times, during which the prime minister suffered serious injuries and underwent the first operation a few hours later on Wednesday evening.
