The Football Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) was informed via the FIFA Legal Portal that disciplinary proceedings have been initiated regarding the events at the qualification match for the 2026 FIFA World Cup between Austria and BiH, played on November 18th 2025, in Vienna.

According to the report of the match delegate, 20 incidents of the use of pyrotechnic devices by fans were recorded in various minutes of the match. Such behavior represents a potential violation of Article 17 of the FIFA Disciplinary Code, which refers to order and security at matches, and specifically Article 17.2.c – ignition of pyrotechnics and other objects.

Based on the available documentation, the Secretariat of the FIFA Disciplinary Committee proposed imposing a monetary fine on the Football Association of BiH in the amount of 141.000 CHF (296.100 BAM).

The fine was determined in accordance with the provisions of Annex 1 of the FIFA Disciplinary Code, taking into account the number of recorded pyrotechnic devices and the fact that it is a repeated offense, it is stated in the announcement of the Football Association of BiH.
