In Sarajevo was opened the first charging station for electric vehicles, which will be at disposal to guests of the hotel Residence Inn Marriott Sarajevo.
Representatives of the Government of Canton Sarajevo and hotel Marriott said that the city of Sarajevo has a big problem when it comes to air quality and that the charging station is the first small step, whose aim is to achieve a significant improvement of air quality.
“It is necessary to open more of these charging stations in order for citizens to start using electric vehicles,” said Minister of Physical Planning, Construction and Environmental Protection of CS, Cedomir Lukic.
The charging station is not commercial and it represents one of the services that the hotel provides to its customers. Hotel Residence Inn Marriott Sarajevo implemented this project in cooperation with Elektroprivreda BiH.
Armin Imamovic from the company Per aspera, which will maintain the charging station, explained that a vehicle can be charged in 60 minutes and able to cross 100 kilometers, while the cost of electricity for that charge will amount to 2 BAM.
At the charging station were built two Mode 3 Type 2 connectors for charging of electric vehicles, which is requirement under the European Directive.
