The Association “Aarhus Center in BiH”, Center for Ecology and Energy of Tuzla and the Center for Environment in Banja Luka will signed a protocol of cooperation in Sarajevo tomorrow under the auspices of the OSCE Mission to BiH.
The goal of cooperation established by this protocol is to further promote and strengthen the implementation of the Aarhus Convention on access to information, participation of citizens in decision-making and access to justice in environmental matters, and to establish a national network of the Aarhus center.
Citizens have to have access to information, the right to participate in decision-making and to have access to justice in environmental matters. The network of Aarhus Center, in cooperation with relevant BiH institutions, will work to further improve accountability and transparency in decision-making, better understanding of this issue and support the decision-making process in the area of environmental protection.
The signing will be attended by representatives of the BiH Ministry for Foreign Trade and Economic Relations, entity ministries that deal with the environment, as well as representatives of the city of Sarajevo and EU Delegation to BiH.
Signing of the protocol will take place on the premises of the OSCE Mission beginning at 11:30.
