Israel announced that three female prisoners who were held by Hamas for 15 months have returned to Israeli territory.
The hostages were handed over by Hamas to the Red Cross in Gaza a few hours after the ceasefire began.
It has been confirmed that they are 31-year-old Doron Steinbrecher, British-Israeli citizen Emily Damari (28) and 24-year-old Romi Gonen.
Israeli military spokesman Daniel Hagari, who also confirmed that the captives had returned to Israeli territory, said the three women were brought to a facility near the border for an initial examination before being taken to hospital.
Hagari said during the press conference that they are “now in safe hands”.
“They are in our hands. They are returning home,” he added.
