Five more Citizens of BiH evacuated from Gaza

Five more BiH citizens arrived from Gaza to Bosnia and Herzegovina on Friday evening, after a complex and demanding evacuation.

“The last five of our citizens arrived home from Gaza tonight, marking the successful completion of a complex and very demanding evacuation,” the BiH Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed.

They stated that despite the extremely difficult conditions, they remained “unwavering in their commitment to protecting our citizens, wherever they are.”

“This operation reflects the dedication and coordinated efforts of all involved. We express our deepest gratitude to all who made this possible,” they added.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, through its embassies in Cairo, Tel Aviv, Amman and Doha and through intensive cooperation with international partners, humanitarian organizations and friendly countries, has been working to alleviate the situation and provide assistance in organizing the evacuation of BiH citizens and their relatives from Gaza since the beginning of the Israeli attacks.

According to data from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina from November 2023, there were 54 people on the list of people to be evacuated from Gaza. Of these, 19 people had the status of citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the rest were relatives of BiH citizens.

Since October 2023, more than 50,200 Palestinians, mostly women and children, have been killed in the brutal Israeli military offensive on Gaza, while more than 113,900 have been injured.

In November last year, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Galant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.

Israel is also facing charges of genocide before the International Court of Justice over the war in the Palestinian enclave.
