Israeli Attack on Southern Lebanon Kills Three, Injures 18

An Israeli airstrike on the Lebanese town of Kfar Tibnit killed three people and wounded 18, the Lebanese Health Ministry said.

The attack was part of a series of Israeli strikes on several areas in southern Lebanon under the pretext of bombing “targets linked to Hezbollah,” Anadolu reported.

The Health Ministry said eight women and six children were among the wounded.

Israeli warplanes hit the Sharafeddine villa near the Kfar Tibnit municipal building, reducing it to rubble.

The attack followed a wave of airstrikes on the Kfar Houneh suburb in the Jezzine district, as well as Rihan Heights, Aaramta and Sejoud in southern Lebanon.

The strikes followed claims by the Israeli military that two rockets were launched from Lebanon into Israeli territory.

However, Hezbollah has denied any involvement, reaffirming its commitment to a ceasefire agreement signed in November 2024.

A ceasefire has been in place in Lebanon since November, ending months of cross-border warfare between Israel and Hezbollah, which escalated into full-scale conflict in September.

Lebanese authorities have reported more than 1,250 Israeli ceasefire violations, killing 100 people and wounding more than 330.

Under the ceasefire agreement, Israel was supposed to fully withdraw from southern Lebanon by January 26, but the deadline was extended to February 18 after it refused to comply.

A military presence is still maintained at five border outposts.
