bijacaManager of the Public Company ‘Autoceste FBiH’ Ensad Karić and FBiH Prime Minister Nermin Nikiš have opened the new five kilometres of highway on subsection Bijača-Kravice and ten more kilometres of rehabilitated regional roads R424 and R423, reports klix.ba

After 20 months of work and 56 million BAM spent, a very important project has finished. BiH companies (ŽGP, Hidrogradnja, Euro-Asfalt Sarajevo) worked on its construction and as a part of the subsection, the border crossing Bijača has finished as well.

Karić noted that the border crossing Bijača was financed by BiH and it was finished before the deadline, and added that ‘Autoceste FBIH’ is continuing to build modern highways in BiH and by 2014 there will be 102 kilometres of highways in BIH.

Nikšić said that 6 million BAM they saved was invested in the local community and congratulated everyone on finishing the important project.

Manager of Euro-Asfalt Sarajevo Hamed Ramić said that this project gave BIH construction companies the needed experience which will help them in getting jobs in other markets as well.

During the construction of 5 kilometres of the highway, 2 overpasses and 3 underpasses were built, as well as the Centre for Maintenance and Traffic Control. Next week the road and the border crossing Bijača will be officially opened to users.
