The foreign ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro Igor Crnadak and Srdan Darmanovic today in Sarajevo, the capital of BiH, signed the Agreement on Colocation of Diplomatic and Consular Representations.

Darmanovic is on a two-day state visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina. Today, he met with the head of BiH diplomacy with whom he spoke about bilateral relations and ways to improve them.

After signing of the Agreement at a press conference, Crnadak highlighted the excellent relationship that BiH and Montenegro have, which has been elevated an high level in recent years and specified in which domains the two countries should improve cooperation.

“It’s hard for the political relationship between BiH and Montenegro to improve much. Cooperation is excellent and now we should work on improving what can bring us the most benefits. I think that the focus should be on the economy, tourism, and those domains from which both countries can feel benefits. We’re neighbors that are seeing a high number of arrivals, especially from BiH into Montenegro in this summer period and it’s logical that institutions at all levels cooperate in order for things to flow correctly,” Crnadak said.

He highlighted that, from BiH’s perspective, it’s very important for both countries’ institutions to work on maintaining security and absolute security in the region since it’s impossible to imagine development without security.

“We evaluated that we need to work on that constantly and we cannot assume that it’s there forever. Montenegro and BiH are very active regarding security and we’re intent on continuing that. We also spoke about the current political and security situations in our countries and in the region and concluded that Montenegro and BiH will remain fully committed to continued democratic development and ever closer cooperation,” the head diplomat said.
