The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bisera Turkovic, participated today in Brussels in the fourth meeting of the Stabilization and Association Council of the EU and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

During the meeting, the current state of implementation of the Stabilization and Association Agreement was discussed, and opinions were exchanged on the situation in BiH, developments in the Western Balkans and other important topics.

“We deeply appreciate the continued support of the European Union, especially during the pandemic, but also during the recovery from the pandemic. We welcome the efforts of the EU Delegation to Bosnia and Herzegovina. We are especially grateful for the Western Balkans investment plan, financial and other support. We are aware of the fact that progress has not been made as planned, but we should not be discouraged from addressing the issues ahead and meeting our obligations, “Turkovic said.

The BiH Foreign Minister expressed concern over the rhetoric and strategies of portraying Bosnia and Herzegovina as a dysfunctional country.

“We must focus on such phenomena, act concretely and create a new and more functional environment for faster progress and development of our country. I fully support the positions of the EU and Josep Borrell, which refer to respecting the judgments of the European Court of Human Rights, the functioning of BiH institutions and especially the denial of the Srebrenica genocide and the glorification of war criminals. I agree with Mr Borrell’s view that there is no place for such phenomena in Europe, “she concluded, Klix.ba writes.
