Following Streets will be closed for Traffic due to the Arrival of Pope Francis

With the arrival of Pope Francis to the capital of B&H, on 6th June from 7.00 a.m. to 8.00 p.m., a modified traffic regime will be in force. During this time the route of movement of the Holy Father will be considered a protected zone and a complete suspension of traffic will be carried out by authorities and officials of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

But, suspensions will not be continuous and, after the Holy Father and his entourage pass, car traffic will be allowed to resume, depending on the street, location and time of passage.

It was announced from the Ministry of Transport of Sarajevo Canton, that the following streets (from the direction of the Airport related to the route of movement of Holy Father and his entourage), will be closed for traffic: Kurta Schorka, Stupska petlja, Dzemala Bijedica, Bulevar Mese Selimovica, Zmaja od Bosne, Hiseta, Reisa Dzemaludina Causevica, Mis Irbina, Musala, Marsala Tita, Alipasina, bypass road next to the Olympic Stadium  “Asim Ferhatović Hase” (from the street  Patriotske lige to the street Alipasina), Betanija, Obala Kulina Bana, Vilsonovo setaliste, Kotromanisa, Kulovica, Dalmatinska, Mehmed pase Sokolovica, Pehlivanusa, Muse Cazima Catica, Josipa Stadlera, Mula Mustafe Baseskije, Telali, Cemalusa, Ferhadija – pedestrian zone at the part of the protected zone of the movement of Pope Francis, Vrbanja, Franje Rackog, Stjepana Tomica, Terezija, Zagrebacka, Hamdije Cemerlica, Prijedorska, Srdjana Aleksica from the intersection with the street Bulevar Mese Selimovica in the direction of Istiqlal Mosque in the length of nearly 300 meters, Brcanska, Zrtava fasizma i Gatacka.

On the 6th June, from 12.00 a.m. to 5.00 a.m., KJKP Gras will establish tram traffic on the Ilidza – Skenderija (turntable), and the number of vehicles will be increased for transport of pilgrims and other users of public transportation. From 7.00 a.m. to 8.00 p.m, KJKP Gras will modify all public transport schedules in agreement with the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Canton Sarajevo and the Holy Father’s routes.
