For a better Life: 25,000 Volunteers were cleaning B&H

akcija2Citizens’ Association ‘’Ruke’’ in cooperation with the association ‘’ Mozaik prijateljstva’’ from Banja Luka has made a great voluntary action “Let’s Do It – Clean the Earth in one day.”

About 25,000 volunteers participated in the action from more than 100 municipalities across Bosnia and Herzegovina, said the organizers of the event.

“Hard working volunteers were cleaning the streets, parks, mountains, the rivers and lakes and we can proudly claim that B&H as of today is much more beautiful place to live for its citizens,” as highlighted by organizers.

Partners of action were the US Embassy in B&H, Eco Life, Konzum, UN Volunteers, the UNDP, Delegation of the European Union, the Red Bull and the Ministry of Construction, Urban Planning and Environmental Protection of USC.

akcija5The central action took place on the Olympic mountain Bjelašnica, which was cleaned by 650 volunteers.

Cleaning was carried out in cooperation with the Olympic Committee of Bosnia and Herzegovina and KJP ZOI’84, and action was helped by other socially responsible companies as well.
