For now, SIPA Deputy Director will not be extradited to BiH

The County Court in Split issued a decision rejecting pre-trial detention for the purpose of extradition following the international search for the current deputy director of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA), his lawyer Ivana Grizelj Ćorluka confirmed for BHRT.

As it was learned from the conversation with the lawyer, Galić voluntarily reported himself to the local police, after which a hearing was held yesterday in which he was requested to be extradited to Bosnia and Herzegovina.

So for now there are no measures of pretrial detention or extradition, said Grizelj Ćorluka.

A warrant was issued for him by Interpol Sarajevo based on the order of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the request of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina dated August 8. Galić has Croatian citizenship.

He is suspected of organized crime and abuse of office.

His lawyer claims that Galić is currently undergoing treatment in Croatia and that he has submitted all relevant documentation justifying his stay in Croatia.

Galić submitted valid documentation from Croatia to his Health Center in Posušje, as well as to the BiH Prosecutor’s Office and SIPA, and all of them, as she claims, have been in possession of that documentation since day one.
