For the first time in history, a Formula 1 car will drive through the streets of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Red Bull Showrun Sarajevo will be held on June 9 in Sarajevo and will transform the urban spaces of Sarajevo into a unique stage for an automotive performance during which the legendary Red Bull Racing Formula 1 car will prepare a memorable day for all visitors. The accompanying program will include musical performances, as well as performances by the famous German duo Red Bull Driftbraders, and stunt motorcycle virtuoso Aras Gibiez.
The legendary F1 driver David Coulthard sent a message to the citizens of Sarajevo in front of Red Bull Racing, who emphasized that Sarajevo is one of the nine cities in the world that will host the Red Bull Showrun.
“You won our hearts with your rich culture, colorful history, and the special spirit of the people in this area will make the event even more special,” said Coulthard.
Emphasizing that the Red Bull Showrun is the ultimate combination of motor sports, music and excitement, Jadran Crnogorac, in front of the organizers, pointed out that the car will pass along the route from Marijin Dvor to the Mechanical School and back past the National Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
“Bosnia and Herzegovina and Sarajevo certainly deserve such events and this is our dedication to the city. We would like to especially thank our patrons and partners without whose support the realization of such a large project would certainly not be possible,” said Crnogorac and added that watching this adrenaline spectacle will be free for all visitors and fans.
Soon, however, a certain number of tickets for the Fan Pit Zone and VIP seats in the stands will go on sale, for those who want the best possible view of the track.
The Minister of Transportation of the Sarajevo Canton, Adnan Šteta, emphasized that he is happy that the Canton Sarajevo Government and the Ministry have created an environment for such events to take place in Sarajevo and that the team from Red Bull has recognized this.
“I am proud that we will be part of the world project. For the first time, a car will pass on our roads and we are eagerly waiting for June. We are preparing so that everything will be perfect. We will not reveal some things, there will be many surprises, and we will be a real support in order to from Sarajevo sent another phenomenal picture to the whole world,” pointed out Šteta.
The Minister of Culture and Sports of Sarajevo Canton, Kenan Magoda, said that there are many events and projects that the ministry will support this year, but that “Red Bull Showrun Sarajevo 2024” is one of the most significant.
“We are waiting for an all-day world event, full of sports, cultural and musical events. This is happening in Sarajevo for the first time, and we believe that it will be a complete spectacle for everyone who will be present and everyone who will follow on television and online platforms. Space in and around the National Museum will be the center of events on June 9, that’s why today we are sending a symbolic message from our museum that Sarajevo deserves to be on the list of the biggest events in the region and the world,” said Magoda.
The President of the Sarajevo Canton Tourist Board, Haris Fazlagić, said that this is a world show, an extremely high-quality and important event.
“And we are honored that it is happening in Sarajevo. The CS Tourist Board continuously supports projects that present Sarajevo as a cultural, historical, musical, gastronomic, and of course sports metropolis from which we send positive vibes in order to attract tourists, and of course pleasant the stay of everyone who comes to various competitions or events. We wish the participants a special and exciting stay in Sarajevo,” emphasized Fazlagić.
The main part of the Red Bull Showrun, which includes driving a car in the city center, is planned from 14:00 to 16:00 on Sunday, June 9, but the organizer says that an all-day entertainment program with concerts and afterparties is planned so that visitors can have a full and fun day in Sarajevo.
Over 50,000 spectators from Bosnia and Herzegovina, the region and the world are expected at the event, AA writes.
