The Minister of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), Zukan Helez, held a meeting with the newly appointed military-diplomatic and military representatives of BiH abroad for the period 2024 – 2027. He greeted them and wished them luck in their new mission.

The minister emphasized that, through a quite rigorous selection process, the best of the best in the Armed Forces of BiH (AFBiH) were chosen. Sixteen military personnel were appointed as MDP and MR, and for the first time in history, the AFBiH has a female military representative, Major Jasmina Omerbegovic.

“I am pleased to extend my sincere congratulations. Your previous engagement in the AFBiH has resulted in your selection to represent our country, the Ministry of Defense, and the AFBiH. Consider it a great privilege! At the same time, consider it a great responsibility and challenge that you need to meet throughout your entire mandate. In this rotation, we have, for the first time, a member of the AFBiH, a female military representative. I hope she will perform her duties in the NATO headquarters in Naples in the best possible way, and I once again congratulate Major Omerbegovic,” said Helez.

The minister emphasized that he expects continued successful cooperation with our partner countries and organizations.

“In addition to the general tasks of representing the state of BiH and the AFBiH, let the high priority of your work be the promotion of strategic interests elaborated in the Defense Law, security policy, defense policy, and foreign policy strategy of BiH. I am confident that through your work and engagement, you will advance the realization of BiH’s integration aspirations and goals related to the development and modernization of BiH’s defense system,” Helez emphasized.

Zoran Sajinovic, Assistant Minister for International Cooperation, and Sead Muratovic, Assistant Minister for Personnel Management, wished the military representatives personal and professional success, with the message to be those who bring solutions, not dilemmas, according to the Public Relations Office of the Ministry of Defense of BiH.
