Foreign Minister of Denmark on an Official Visit to BiH

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of BiH, Elmedin Konaković, met today in Sarajevo with the head of diplomacy of Denmark, Lars Lokke Rasmussen.

Rasmussen said at the press conference after the meeting that Denmark will support Bosnia and Herzegovina in its efforts to join the European Union.

“We are committed to reaching the end of that race. There is still work ahead of us, constitutional reform is needed, 14 key priorities need to be implemented. I would invite all BiH leaders to get involved in this process,” said Rasmussen.

Konaković added that the intensity on the diplomatic scene bore fruit.

“Very dear guests are visiting Bosnia and Herzegovina, which was not the case in the past period. It is very important for us to listen to the messages that speak about a different policy of enlargement of the European Union,” Konaković said.

He added that visible progress has been recorded, while at the same time we have fears and dilemmas that come primarily from the Assembly of the RS.

“I explained that this Russian influence causes problems for all of us, but that not all BiH citizens should be punished for that. We constantly talk about sticks and carrots, we understand that there is a stick, but we also need a few carrots,” Konaković concluded, Klix.ba reports.
