Formal Reception in Washington on the occasion of the Independence Day of BiH

On the occasion of the 32nd anniversary of the independence of Bosnia and Herzegovina, a formal reception was held at the Embassy of our country in Washington. The reception was attended by a large number of American officials, including representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the United States of America, the White House, as well as representatives of Bosnia and Herzegovina. diaspora.

After singing the hymns of the two countries, the guests were addressed by Sven Alkalaj, Ambassador of BiH to the USA, and James O’Brien, Assistant Secretary of State of the USA Antony Blinken for European and Eurasian Affairs. In his speech, Ambassador Alkalaj recalled the key role of the USA in achieving peace in BiH, signing the Dayton Agreement, but also in post-war reconstruction, humanitarian aid and economic development.

Speaking about the current situation, O’Brien emphasized that the US remains consistent in its assistance to Bosnia and Herzegovina and its citizens, but also called on European partners to help BiH achieve its goals.
