Senaid Memić, after the criminal investigation, was handed over to the jurisdiction of the Cantonal Prosecutor’s Office in Sarajevo this morning. The former mayor of the Municipality of Ilidža was arrested yesterday and charged with abuse of position and authority, in connection with illegal construction in the territory of that municipality.
The Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor’s Office stated that Senaid Memić is accused of having illegally issued several permits during his term of office from 2013 to mid-2017 in connection with the construction of the buildings of investors Panamera, Malak group and the parking lot of the municipality of Ilidža, which was given to UO “Brajlović” for use.
Senaid Memic served as the mayor of the Municipality of Ilidža from 2011 to 2020, when he was appointed as the ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina to Malaysia.
Memic is a member of the Party of Democratic Action (SDA), which nominated him for the position of ambassador in 2020.
