Ski suits from the time of the Olympic Games held 40 years ago in Sarajevo, an authentic torch, the oldest map of Jahorina and many other antiques were on display yesterday at the departure station of the “Poljice” gondola in Jahorina.

The exhibition was opened on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the Winter Olympic Games in Sarajevo.

“We are proud of our rich history. The exhibition represents a kind of walk through time. Our history is told through each exhibit,” was the message from yesterday‘s exhibition.

Djordje Kardum ceded most of the exhibits exhibited yesterdayin Jahorina. His collection, which he was collecting passionately for 15 years, contains unique props and ski suits from the time of the Olympic Games.

“For about 15 years, I have been working on collecting archival material and authentic exhibits from that era. It is a great honor for me that we managed to organize this unique exhibition in Jahorina,” said Kardum.

He collected various objects and things that were part of the Winter Olympic Games ’84 organization in Sarajevo.

“There are complete uniforms that were used on the opening day of the Olympic Games, complete ski equipment. I bought 99 percent of the exhibits,” added Kardum.

The director of the Jahorina Olympic Center, Dejan Ljevnaic, said that we should continue to work on the promotion of love, reconciliation and respect.

From February 8th to 14th, 1984, Sarajevo was the center of the world, and the entire former Yugoslavia participated in the organization of the Olympic Games.

Companies from Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), as well as the whole of Yugoslavia, were involved in the construction of the facilities. At the same time, each of the RTV companies from the republics of the former Yugoslavia, from Ljubljana to Skopje, had one arena that they covered, AA writes.
